I am trying to find a nice wine that is similar in taste to a cheaper Arbor Mist wine. I am taking my girlfriend to a nice restaurant for Valentines and I want to order a nice bottle of wine. However she is very picky about what she eats and drinks. I know she drinks Arbor Mist because I have bought it on several occasions for her, but the place we go does not serve it. They have more expensive and finer wines. So is there a Zinfandel or a Merlot or Cabernet that has a similar but richer taste then Arbor Mist?

James, Arbor Mist fits more into the category of wine coolers. It is wine per se, but it’s a wine that has fruit juice or fruit flavorings added to it, so I’m guessing your girl likes sweet wines. Restaurants don’t usually serve these types of wines so I would suggest a white Zinfandel or a Riesling; if they have it, Sauternes. Sauternes is a French dessert wine that will definitely fulfill her sweet tooth cravings. If they don’t have either of these types of wines, just pull the waiter aside and ask him/her. If nothing else order a blue motorcycle.
